Perhaps the best way to think of flux abstractly is "How much stuff goes through your thing", where the stuff is a field and the thing is the imaginary surface. -unknown Wikipedia editor

Ubuntu is totally sweet. I downloaded it because the CDs take forever to ship. I remember I ordered 10 CDs over a month ago, and they started getting them ready to ship on the 10th of June... Apparently it takes another 3-4 weeks to ship them out once they start preparing them for shipment. If they are here by the next LAN, I'm gonna distribute them. I am having some difficulties, because I'm somewhat of a Linux n00b, but I'll ask questions in the "tech support" topic.

Just be sure you know what you're doing when it comes time to partition. I can help with this step.

Ubuntu is a Linux distribution. In case you don't know what Linux is..
Linux is an operating system, just like Windows or Mac OS X is.

Basic points:
- Linux is free
- All software should be free.
- The source code to all software should be freely available

Linux pros:
- Its free!
- Virus/Adware/Malware are virtually non existant
- More secure(xp/2000 are getting there but still not quite as good as linux can be)
- large international community
- choices choices choices, lots of different choices for all kinds of software that help your system run. In fact you have a choice of what boot loader to use in linux.

Linux cons:
- Will not run windows games(you can use cedega to 'emulate' windows but it doesnt always work too great)
- notoriously difficult to learn. (linux is not point and click like windows for the most part)

You shall receive one next time I see you. That could either be during the next LAN, or I could just show up at Ryan's house on Tuesday(?) night.
